MNG Driving School Terms & Conditions

1. Pupils must be of legal age to drive and produce a valid UK/Northern Ireland provisional Category B driving licence.
2. For Motorway, Pass Plus or Refresher lessons a full valid licence must be produced.
3. Pupils must meet the minimum eye test requirements. If glasses or contact lenses are worn in order to meet this requirement, then they must be worn at all times when driving.
4. Pupils must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when taking lessons. Any prescribed medication that may affect driving must be declared to the instructor and to the DVLA medical board.
5. Pupils must notify the instructor if there is any change in ability or entitlement to have driving tuition.
6. Each lesson will commence when the pupil enters the car provided that the pupil enters the car at the arranged/pre-booked time.
7. If the pupil is not present at the arranged meeting point the instructor will wait for 15 minutes, during which time the instructor will attempt to contact the pupil. After this period, and if no contact has been made, the instructor will leave, and the pupil charged for the lesson.
8. Where the instructor may arrive slightly late for a lesson due to circumstances beyond his/her control, the instructor will make efforts to extend the finish time of the lesson by the same amount of time or add the time on to the following lesson.
9. If the pupil wishes to cancel or rearrange a lesson then a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to be given to your instructor, otherwise the pupil will be charged for the period booked.
10. Any pre-payments made to MNG Driving School in advance by you or on behalf of you for driving lessons to be provided in the future will be transferred to your instructor. In doing so MNG Driving School act solely as agent for your instructor.
11. When pre-payments have not been made, then payments for lessons are due at the beginning of each lesson. Payments can be made by cash directly to your instructor.
12. Intensive Courses may be booked at a minimum 50 per cent deposit. The balance must be paid prior to, or at the commencement of, the first lesson.
13. MNG Driving School accepts no liability for any payments made directly to your instructor.
14. A separate charge is made for the use of the training car during a driving test. Please refer to the price list or enquire with a member of staff.
15. The pupil may be permitted to use the training car for their driving test only if the instructor is satisfied that they have reached the required standard. The DVSA rules do not allow pupils to take driving tests for experience.
16. The pupil agrees to pay the cost of penalty notices, uninsured damage to the vehicle and any other non-recoverable costs incurred during a driving test.
17. MNG Driving School will make every effort to substitute another instructor if the regular instructor is unable to attend a driving test appointment.
18. MNG Driving School has no responsibility if a driving test is cancelled by the DVSA for any reason or if the pupil fails the eyesight test. MNG Driving School will be responsible and will reimburse the pupil ‘s costs if the test is cancelled due to the condition of the test vehicle.
19. Prepaid lessons must be taken by you within six months of the date of your original payment. You will not be entitled to a refund after the expiry of this period. At any point during this six-month period, if you don’t wish to take any of the prepaid lessons then you are entitled to a refund. You will charged for every lesson at our standard rates you have taken and refunded the difference.
20. Prepaid lessons may not be sold or transferred to any other person.
21. No refund will be issued where an intensive course is cancelled by the pupil before the course has been completed. Deposits are not refundable.
22. Pre-payments of lessons and deposits for Intensive Courses are not refundable.
23. The pupil agrees that MNG Driving School and/or the instructor have no liability to the pupil for any loss, injury or damage. Statutory rights are not affected.
24. If your lesson is cancelled by your instructor or by MNG Driving School, your lesson will be rearranged for a mutually convenient time or, if that is not possible, you will be offered a refund for that lesson.
25. The value of driving lessons your Instructor will deliver to you is equal to the value of the monies received from you. Your Instructor does not know when you will redeem your prepaid lessons and therefore cannot guarantee that they will be available each time you choose to request a driving lesson.
26. While every endeavour is made to commence the lesson at the scheduled time and with the scheduled instructor, no responsibility can be taken for circumstances beyond our control which may delay the start time or result in a change of instructor. If there are circumstances beyond our control which have delayed the start time of your lesson, we will offer you the full lesson time or, if that is not possible, we will offer you a lesson at another time.
27. Personal data provided by you to MNG Driving School and/or your Instructor (whether or not under our contract (or contracts) with you) may be used to:

• Identify you.
• Help administer, and contact you about improved administration of, any accounts, services and products provided to you.
• Trace debtors, recover debt, prevent and detect fraud, and to manage your accounts or insurance policies and check your identity to prevent money laundering unless you give us other satisfactory proof of identity.

Personal data will only be retained for as long as required and then destroyed securely. It will not be shared, nor will it be transferred outside of the European Economic Area.

MNG Driving School may seek your consent to use your image for promotional purposes. Any photograph taken for these purposes will remain the property of MNG Driving School and in giving your consent for the photograph to be taken you acknowledge the right of MNG Driving School to use your image in any advertising campaign.
